Goals

Some of our members have set fitness goals for themselves, many have already been reached! After only around a month at Guiding Fitness, RENEE RAN A WHOLE LAP AROUND THE PARK WITHOUT STOPPING!!!!! She could hardly run two steps without stopping when she first joined. One small step for Renee, one giant leap for Guiding Fitness =)

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk this Sunday!!

The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk for American Cancer Society is this Sunday, October 18. If you have not signed up to walk yet, and are interested in signing up, please go to http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?sid=55931&type=fr_informational&pg=informational&fr_id=19782 and choose "join a team" then search for "Guiding Fitness." You can also sign up at the event. If you can not walk but would like to make a donation, you can also do that by following the link above.
The walk starts and finishes at the steps of the State Capital in Sacramento.

It has a rolling start between 8am and 9am. We will be meeting at 7:30am at Guiding Fitness in Lincoln. We'll pile in cars together and head down to Sacramento. If you will not be carpooling with us, but will be meeting us at the walk, let Kacie or Mallery know so that we can meet up and walk together. When we finish the walk, there will be free water, drinks, and snacks for us to enjoy. There's some motivation to make it to the end!

If you have any other questions, just ask!

Today's Support Class

Today we discussed the six steps of "Bouncing Back". Our homework is to challenge ourselves this week with small challenges and concentrate on the positive outcome. We must also focus on having a back up plan for when things go haywire.

Good luck to everyone! If you would like to join us in our challenge this week, please feel free to let us know.

It's almost Friday!!! =)

We've got a GREAT week coming!

What's Happening This Week:

We are having 6:30am classes every day this week. The night classes are going strong, but we need to work on filling up the morning. If you or someone you know would like to join us, please feel free to sign up.

The routine for Wednesday is going to be so much fun.... N'Sync here we come =)
Watching John dance will be entertainment in itself =) I'm just glad that I won't be the only one missing a couple of steps!

The topic for Thursday night's Support Class is going to be a good one:
Bounce Back Better - How to deal with setbacks.

I know that I got everybody excited about the Yoga class but I don't think it's going to work out. I am having a really hard time finding someone that is not just in it for the money or themselves. At Guiding Fitness, we are trying to recreate the fitness industry by finding instructors and trainers that REALLY do care about you. If you know anyone that instructs yoga and you think they would be a good fit, please have them call me.

Our goal for this week is to have Renee jog around the whole park without stoping. I think it can be done by Saturday!

Mallery is running the 6:00pm class on Monday and Friday.... if you want to get your butt kicked then make sure you are there!

By the end of the month we are going to add an hour "Body Blast" class. This class will be a mixture of hard core cardio and weight training. This is a GREAT class for anyone that is serious about getting fit. All levels are accepted.

One Final Thing. We lost our big room so many of the classes may be at the park until we can find a bigger place. I will send a group text before the class to make sure that everyone knows where to go.

Ok, I think that's it. No one is allowed to get hurt this week...got it!

Class update

Hey everyone! Sorry we haven't written in a while, it will get better =)

We had an 80's theme for the modern aerobics class on Wednesday. It was so much fun, maybe we will do it again sometime (and get pictures). We also learned a new routine. The routine days definitely get our heart pumping...and they are tons of fun!

Our topic for the Thursday night support class was how to handle stressful situations. Our homework is to do the following 3 things WHEN we get stressed this week:
1) Ask yourself how important it really is. Will you be worried about it in a couple of days..or even a couple of minutes?
2) Close your eyes and think about something peaceful (like laying on the beach or having a family dinner)
3) Call a cheerful friend to chat.

From now on we will be posting all of the support topics and homework so that those that missed it can still keep up.

See ya soon!
