We need a bigger room!

Our group is growing quickly! I love going into the studio and seeing new faces! We now have 3 people working regularly to make sure that everyone gets the attention that they deserve. Feel free to visit our "about the trainers" page on the website to learn more about our team. Our goal is that no matter how much we grow, we will always know everybody's name and we will stay personable. The next step is a larger place. We hope to have a larger room (or more rooms) by January..yay!!! You know what that means for those of you that are already part of our family...more action in the aerobics classes =)

We thank all of you again for being so great! Guiding Fitness would not be successful without you, this is what it's all about!

Thanks for helping my dream come true!

Classes

Today we are doing a really fun "routine" for modern aerobics!

I can't wait to see how many of you remember the routine from last week... I can't wait to see if I remember the one from last week =)

The topic for tomorrow's support class is clean food. What are clean foods and how can we integrate them into our everyday lives?

See you soon!

Guiding Fitness and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Here is a facebook note posted by one of our members, Mallery. We encourage anyone involved in Guiding Fitness to join the team. Thanks Mallery!!!!

"About 3 weeks ago I joined a gym in Lincoln called Guiding Fitness. I LOVE it. Its not like any other gym that I've been to. Its a smaller place, which again, I love. The owner offers personal training and also teaches fitness classes. The classes that I go to are in the evenings but there are also classes in the morning and on Saturdays. Its a really good group of people coming to the classes and we're really getting to know each other.

I'm starting a team for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at the State Capitol on Sunday Oct. 18. Hopefully women from the gym will join, and I'd love for my mom, aunts, sisters, cousins, friends to come too. If you go to the Making Strides Link you can join our team "Guiding Fitness" or join as an individual. http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/MakingStridesAgainstBreastCancer/MSABCFY10California/1520453144?JServSessionIdr002=jo4xunjw91.app310b&pg=entry&fr_id=19782

If you're not interested in walking, please think about supporting our team with a donation. Thanks!"

Adding more to our great group!

We have mentioned before how great our clients are. Our Guiding Fitness group has become more than a gym or place to sweat, we have all become great friends! They are so motivated that we actually have to make them to take a break. We've been told that Guiding Fitness is addictive, which is great because it means that we are doing our job! The next step is to keep the motivation up. I heard somewhere that over 50% of people that start a work out program end it in less than 8 weeks. Our goal is to lower that number down to 10%. Sure it's a challange, but one that we are willing to take on.

This weekend we hope to add several more clients to the program. All I can hope for is that they are just as great as the ones that we already have.

Wednesday's Modern Aerobics Classes

Normally we just fly by the seat of our pants during our Monday, Wednesday and Friday aerobics class. We decided to add a little twist to our Wednesday classes by learning a routine! Today is going to be VERY entertaining (to say the least) because our aerobics instructor has no rhythm! Dance is not her specialty! The whole point of the class is to get moving and have fun, I think we will pass that test with flying colors!!

Run With Dawn Today - Busy Day!!!

Fridays are VERY busy for Guiding Fitness! Lots of sessions in the morning, errands, and long classes in the afternoon. Today Dawn and Kacie (her trainer) ran out in the hot, hot sun for 30 min. Isn't it supposed to cool down soon? We can't wait for classes in the park!

New Classes!!

Ok, so enough with the cheesy stuff for a while.

Yay, we've added new new classes! Take a look at our website for class times.

Dawn

As many of you may know, we are training Dawn from the Rob, Arnie and Dawn Show on 98.5.

9 weeks have passed and though the scale doesn't show all the progress we have made, I have confidence that it will soon enough. Those of you that are overweight realize how much emotion has an effect on your day to day life. There is a story behind every person and an underlying reason for what you see in the mirror today. Most personal trainers do not get involved enough in the story, reason and emotion. They only focus on the physical part of fitness, which is why a very high percentage of people that lose weight, gain it right back.

Dawn has learned so much about herself and we are now working to undo bad fitness habits.

I will keep blogging about our progress. To see her measurements, weigh-ins, videos and more...feel free to go to their website at http://www.robarnieanddawn.com

Guide My Fitness Contest Applicants

We have a contest running until September 13th. Initially when we decided to do it, we thought that it would be easy... just post a couple of questions, do a couple of interviews and pick the five people that we think should win...easy right? ALL of the applicants so far have been great! Some made us laugh and some made us cry, but they all have such a great story to tell. All of the applications are due on September 13th. We will keep you posted on our winners!
